Any student who arrives at school after school has begun must report to the office before going to class. These students must account for their late arrival by a signed, dated note and /or a phone call home to the parent. This procedure has a double benefit: the parent is aware of the tardy, and the school knows that the parent is aware.  If a student arrives at school tardy and fails to follow this procedure, that tardy becomes unexcused and remains so. Students must take care of any tardy the day of the tardy incident. In some circumstances, a one day (24 hour) grace period is allowed due to extenuating circumstances. (Parents are out of town for the day, etc.) Punctuality is important. Some students are habitual when it comes to tardy. Our policy allows for a student who is legitimately late to school to take care of that in a timely manner.
