1.    Analyze Current Data (Current Year)

The following are summative scores from SAGE and DIBELS: DIBELS End of Year (EOY) proficiency scores:19-20 EOY = 80% of students in grades 1-3 showed typical or better growth.2017-18 SAGE Summative Scores:Language Arts=      50%        Math=    65%     Science = 64%2018-19 SAGE Summative Scores:Language Arts=      56%        Math=    65%     Science = 62%

2.    Goal

Ephraim Elementary School would like to see a 1% growth in RISE Language Arts, Math, and Science growth scores, and 60% of our students in grades 1-3 show typical or better growth in DIBELS from beginning to end of year benchmarks in accordance with the new state requirement. Our data also shows that EES needs to keep improving the growth of our increasing English Language Learner (ELL) population. As a school we now have almost eighty ELL students. We would like to use TSSA money, in conjunction with Americore, to hire an additional ELL person to provide extra small group reading intervention for our ELL students. Ephraim Elementary would also like to continue implementing our school wide positive intervention refocus program for students. This program provides a restorative process for students to help them recover and return to learning. The refocus room provides structure and support to students by holding students accountable for their actions, while giving them space in a supportive way. Students will also be able to self-select to visit the room if they perceive the need. This would be discussed with the teacher and monitored by the refocus person and Educators Handbook software. The refocus room gives students what they need and is an integral part of a positive behavior intervention system (PBIS). This will have a direct effect on student academic achievement and our stated academic goal. Our Refocus program was a huge success last year.
