1. Welcome - Meeting called to order by John Gillett @ 3:07pm.
2. Introduction of new member(s) by John Gillett. Brooke Hallows and Angela Gerber are the new members for the next term of 2023 Fall - 2025 Spring
3. John Gillett went over the Rules of Order and Procedure for the School Community Council. (Rule of Order and Procedure can be found on our school website).
4. Election of New Vice Chair Officer. Nominations from committee members were for Brooke Hallows. Angela Gerber made the motion to elect Brooke Hallows for the Vice Chair, Rose Carlile seconded the motion. All voting members were in favor of the motion.
5. Motion to approve minutes from 4/11/23 School Community Council (SCC) by Angela Gerber, seconded by Rose Carlile. All in favor.
6. School Community Council Checklist/Responsibilities/Training was done by John Gillett who went over the checklist and responsibilities for the new members.
7. South Sanpete Wellness Scorecard (John). USDA regulations on school student lunches and their rights along with guidelines. John went over all of the guidelines on the wellness scorecard with members.
8. Review 2022-23 Trust Land Plan for end of year report (John). John Gillett talked about the budget and the final plan and goals of the Trust Lands Plan for the end of year report.
9. Review Current (2023-24) School Trust Lands Plan (John). TSSA plan, John mentioned where the money is being allocated and $57,000 where it will be used. (4 areas located on the TSSA plan located on the District page). 2023-24 EMS Trust Lands Plan.pdf

12. Ideas for 2024-25 School Trust Lands Plan
a. ELL Program - Student numbers are growing fast. John mentioned the idea of buying some preps from Maggie Grindstaff (endorsed) and Annie Harris (not yet endorsed). Imagine Learning Program - listening, reading, writing, learning.
b. Rose - question: Is there funding for the library? John said there is funding from the district.
13. 2023-24 EMS Proposed SCC Meeting Schedule Motion to approve attached SCC Meeting schedule for the 2023- 2024 school year by Spencer Dyches, and seconded by Angela Gerber. Unanimous by all members.
14. Questions/Concerns:
a. John asked the members to come to the next meeting with anything they might have questions or concerns about.
b. Brooke raised concern about 7th grade field trip communication as a parent. She didn't feel there was enough communication between teachers and parents.
15. Next Meeting will be held Wednesday, November 29th @ 3:00 pm in the EMS Library.
