Minutes:
Welcome and meeting called to order by Brooke Hallows @ 3:05 pm.

Mr. Gillett introduced our new parent members, Tresa Hanks & Kaycie Sorenson. He also briefly explained the purpose of the School Community Council and what their involvement would be.

Rules of Order were presented by John Gillett. Tresa Hanks made a motion to approve the Rules of Order, it was seconded by Brooke Hallows. Unanimous by all voting members.

Election of new Officer (Vice Chair) was presented by John Gillett. During the council, Angela Gerber nominated Kaycie Sorenson for the position of Vice Chair, she was seconded by Tresa Hanks, and it was unanimously approved by all voting members.

Approval of the last meeting minutes (March 27, 2024 SCC Minutes) was presented. Angela Gerber made a motion to approve the March 27, 2024 SCC Minutes. The motion was seconded by Brooke Hallows, and unanimously approved by all SCC voting members.

Mr. Gillett presented the School Community Council Checklist/Responsibilities/Training October SCC newsletter with all the council members. He suggested that all members of the council attend a virtual meeting, especially for our new members. There are 4 virtual training dates and new members need to choose one before the next meeting.

Mr. Gillett went over the Trust Lands Plan for 2024-25 school year. He spoke about our 3 goals that we are currently working on for this year. You can view the plan through the following link: Review 2024-25 Trust Lands Plan

Brooke presented the meeting dates for the 2024-25 school year School Community Council. Angela Gerber made a motion to approve the 2024-25 EMS School Community Council Meeting Schedule. Some ideas were talked about with the council for next year's School Trust Lands Plan. Some of the items are as listed.
Ideas for 2025-26 School Trust Lands Plan
Brainpop App for ELL classes - $200 a year?
Smart music
Money for books to complete the series in the library (This funding will come from the Library Fund.)
Money to replace old instruments in orchestra—30-year old cellos

There were no questions or concerns from any of the council members. Mr. Gillett asked to please think of anything and report at the next meeting.

The next School Community Council will be held Wednesday, November 20th @ 3:00 pm in the EMS Library.

Brooke Hallows made a motion to adjourn the meeting @ 4:12pm. It was seconded by Angela Gerber. All members were unanimous.
