CELL PHONES
As a faculty and administration at Ephraim Middle School we are continually working to keep your students safe and improve your students’ education and experience while at school. It is for this reason that when we received an email from Governor Spencer Cox requesting that we remove cell phones from classrooms that we considered our current policy.
We will continue to follow the South Sanpete School District policy (JGB) with the following clarification: Beginning Monday, March 18, 2024 at EMS personal electronic devices (Cell phones, Smart Watches, EarBuds, etc) must remain out of sight AND be turned off OR on silent mode during school including lunch (7:55 am until 2:40 pm M-Th and 7:55 am-1:40 pm on Friday).
We realize that as a parent you may need to contact your student or they may need to contact you during the school day. We ask that if you need to contact your student that you call the school at (435)283-4037 and our secretaries will get the message to your student or will have your student come to the phone. If your student needs to contact you, they must come to the office and will be given permission to call you on their cell phone in the office or a phone will be made available for them to call you.
Thank you for your support as we work to provide a safe and distraction free school environment.
