Pam Larsen was nominated and voted on by the council to be the teacher representative.
SMART SCHOOL AWARD
The teachers have received professional development in preparation to deploy the iPads in the classrooms. All the technology is onsite and being used except for the iPad charging carts. As soon as they arrive, the iPads will be put in the classrooms. The charging carts should arrive any day.
UTAH COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSEMENT SYSTEM (UCAS)
The USOE has developed a new assessment system that will replace the federal No Child Left Behind AYP requirements. The final report is not yet available from the state, but GVES will place in the top fourth of the elementary schools in the state.
TITLE I AWARD
GVES has been designated as a “Title I Reward” school in recognition of high levels of academic achievement and student progress.
SCHOOL LAND TRUST PLAN
The final report on the 2011-2012 School Land Trust Plan was reviewed and the members voted to accept the report and send it to the district and the USOE. A copy of the plan is available at the school office and online at http://www.schoollandtrust.org.
