Discussed/reviewed Trust Land Plan for 2020-2021.  Manti High School plan goal: Manti High School will increase our composite score on the ACT test by at least .1%.  Reading, Mathematics, writing, technology, and Science are academic areas we are working on. We will track data on a yearly basis using the eleventh grade ACT school wide test results.  Baseline data will be the result from prior years as stated by the ACT College Readiness letter for Manti High School.

Reviewed the TSSA plan (Teacher and Student Success ACT Plan) 1.  We will purchase iPads, printers, computer adapters to support our school and district technology initiative plan. 2. We will pay for teacher professional development. 3. We will purchase swivel cameras for teachers to record instruction for at home learners. 4. We will partner with gear up to pay for our “leader in Me” subscription.

8 Discuss school safety plan/digital citizenship for SSSD and Manti high -

Manti high school is continually working on school safety and digital citizenship.  We have a site specialist to help monitor the iPads and technology.  Jodi from the district provides teacher support for digital citizenship.

9.  Review faculty teaching and extra curricular assignments/class schedule - This year is a pilot year for science class and social science.  Students attend their science class or social science class everyday instead of every other. Students will fulfill their science and social science credit in one semester instead of two.

Introduce/explain leader in me Class  - This year Manti High School is trying to give “Leader in Me” a run.  The sophomore class is required to take a leadership class.

Items from Council Members - A shout out to our counseling department.  They were able to get a vast majority of our senior students to fill out the FAFSA application.   They have been working really hard to see that the students get the opportunity to fill it out.  Positive feed back on our new dance room.  Dance I, Dance II, Dance Company, and Yoga are all new class that we offer and taught by Tomica Boehrer.  Our next community council meeting will be held January 4, 2021 at 3:00pm.  All are welcome.
